Terms of Service

Welcome to GetIllustrations. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at getillustrations.com, our Figma plugin, REST API, and all related products and services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Vectopus FZ-LLC ("GetIllustrations", "we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. They form a legally binding agreement between you and GetIllustrations. Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service in any manner — including browsing the website, creating an account, downloading assets, or integrating our API — you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or have obtained guardian consent if younger) and that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In that case, "you" and "your" refer to that entity.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

GetIllustrations provides a library of high-quality illustration and icon assets, along with tools and integrations to help designers, developers, and teams incorporate them into their projects. The Service includes:

• Illustration and icon asset library — Thousands of vector illustrations and icon packs available for download in SVG, PNG, and other formats.
• Customisation tools — An online SVG Colour Editor and scene builder allowing you to customise assets to match your brand; plus a Colour Wheel and Font Pairing tool.
• Custom illustration service — A bespoke illustration ordering service where our team creates unique artwork to your brief.
• REST API access — Programmatic access to the asset library for search, retrieval, and integration into third-party applications.
• Figma plugin — A native Figma plugin for browsing and inserting GetIllustrations assets directly into your design files.
• Team collaboration features — Shared licences and download management for teams under qualifying plans.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

3. Account Registration

To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. When you register:

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information.
• You must keep your account information up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old, or have verifiable parental or guardian consent if you are between 13 and 18 years of age.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at support@getillustrations.com.
• You may not share account credentials with any other person or use another person's account without permission.
• One account per person or legal entity is permitted.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe contain false or misleading information, violate these Terms, or are being used in a manner that may harm us or other users.

4. License and Usage Rights

The licence you receive when downloading assets from GetIllustrations is governed by our separate Licence Agreement, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Below is a brief overview of the three licence tiers:

Free License

Free assets downloaded without a paid plan may be used in personal and commercial projects provided that attribution is given to GetIllustrations. Free assets may not be redistributed, resold, or included in a product that is itself offered for sale or free distribution without significant modification.

Standard License

Included with all paid individual plans. Permits use in personal and commercial projects — including client work, websites, apps, printed materials, and advertising — without attribution. Standard licences do not permit redistribution, resale, or incorporation into products offered for sale or download to end users.

Extended License

Required for uses not covered by the Standard licence, including incorporation into products for resale or broad distribution. Available on request — contact legal@getillustrations.com.

All licences are perpetual for assets downloaded during the active subscription or purchase period. Cancelling your subscription does not revoke the licence for assets already downloaded. Licences are granted to the named account holder and are not transferable to third parties.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service in any way that:

• Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation, including export control laws
• Infringes any intellectual property right of GetIllustrations or any third party
• Involves scraping, crawling, or harvesting content or data from the Service without our express written permission
• Attempts to reverse-engineer, decompile, or derive source code from the Service or any part thereof
• Attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its servers, or related infrastructure
• Uses automated tools (bots, scripts, crawlers) to access the Service in a manner that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure
• Circumvents or disables any digital rights management or access control mechanism
• Creates derivative works for the purpose of competing with GetIllustrations or training artificial intelligence models without our written consent
• Involves impersonating any person or entity, or misrepresenting your affiliation with any person or entity
• Transmits any unsolicited commercial communications, spam, or harmful content

Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate termination of your account and potential legal action.

6. Payment Terms

Certain features of the Service require payment. All digital product purchases (illustration packs, bundles, and subscriptions) are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. By completing a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms and Paddle's Privacy Policy. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details. The following terms apply:

• Billing — Subscription fees are billed in advance on the billing cycle selected at purchase (monthly or annual). One-time purchase fees are charged immediately.
• Taxes — Prices displayed may exclude applicable sales taxes, VAT, or GST, which will be calculated and collected by Paddle at checkout based on your billing location. Paddle handles all tax remittance on our behalf.
• Bank statement — Your bank or card statement will show a charge from Paddle.net or Paddle.com, not GetIllustrations. This is expected — Paddle is our authorised reseller.
• Automatic renewal — Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancellation — You may cancel at any time via your account dashboard. Access to paid features continues until the end of the current paid billing period. No partial refunds for unused days.
• Refunds — Governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. All refunds for digital products are processed through Paddle.
• Custom illustration services — Bespoke illustration commissions ordered through our Custom Work page are billed separately via Stripe or PayPal and are not processed through Paddle.
• Price changes — We will notify existing subscribers at least 30 days before any price change takes effect for their subscription.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and all content made available through it — including illustrations, icons, website design, software, text, graphics, logos, and code — are the intellectual property of GetIllustrations or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws.

The licences described in Section 4 are the only rights granted to you. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or brand names without our prior written consent.

User-submitted content: If you submit content to us (such as a custom illustration brief, feedback, or testimonial), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, and display that content for the purposes of providing and promoting the Service.

If you believe that any content available through the Service infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to legal@getillustrations.com.

8. API Usage

Access to the GetIllustrations REST API and Figma plugin API is subject to these Terms plus any additional API-specific terms communicated at the time of API key issuance. In addition to the general prohibitions in Section 5, you agree:

• To use your API key only for the application or service for which it was issued and not to share it publicly or with third parties.
• To respect rate limits enforced by our API. Exceeding limits without written authorisation may result in temporary or permanent suspension of your API access.
• To display GetIllustrations attribution or branding as specified in the API documentation when surfacing assets in your application.
• That assets retrieved via the API are subject to the same licence restrictions as direct downloads (Section 4). The API does not grant broader usage rights.
• That we may monitor API usage for abuse, security incidents, and compliance with these Terms.

We reserve the right to revoke API access at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

9. Termination

By you: You may terminate your account at any time by requesting account deletion via your account settings or by contacting support@getillustrations.com. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as described in Section 6. Licences for assets already downloaded remain valid after termination.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, if your account has been inactive for an extended period, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. In the event of termination for cause, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Sections 4 (for previously downloaded assets), 7, 10, 11, 12, and 13 survive any termination of these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that defects will be corrected; or that the Service or the servers that make it available are free of viruses or other harmful components.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so the above exclusion may not apply to you in full.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GETILLUSTRATIONS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU TO GETILLUSTRATIONS IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD 100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of certain types of damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GetIllustrations and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgements, awards, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

• Your violation of these Terms;
• Your use of the Service;
• Your violation of any rights of a third party; or
• Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Service.

We reserve the right to assume exclusive control of the defence of any matter for which you are required to indemnify us, and you agree to cooperate with our defence of those claims.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms — including any question regarding their existence, validity, or termination — shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties. If resolution is not reached within 30 days, the dispute shall be referred to the competent courts of the UAE.

If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or UK, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your local law will apply to the extent they conflict with these Terms. Nothing in this governing law clause limits your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence. EU consumers retain all rights under applicable EU Directives, including the right to withdraw from a digital content purchase within 14 days unless download has begun with your express consent and acknowledgement that the withdrawal right is thereby lost.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, send you an email notification or display a notice in the Service.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription.

15. Communications and Email

Communications you receive from GetIllustrations fall into two distinct categories. It is important to understand the difference because they are governed by different rules under applicable law.

(a) Service and transactional emails

When you create an account, sign in, place an order, download an asset, request a password reset, or otherwise use the Service, we will send you operational emails necessary to deliver the Service. These include — without limitation — order and payment confirmations, invoice receipts, download notifications and licence information, password and security notifications, account and billing notices, subscription renewal reminders, cancellation confirmations, custom-order status updates, replies to support enquiries, and material updates to these Terms or the Privacy Policy. These messages are sent on the legal basis of contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR / equivalent provisions under UK GDPR, CASL, and PIPEDA) or our legitimate interest in operating the Service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You cannot opt out of service and transactional emails while your account remains active; you may end them by closing your account in accordance with Section 9.

(b) Marketing emails — explicit consent required

Marketing emails — including our newsletter, new-pack and new-collection announcements, product updates, promotional offers, campaigns, and educational content — are sent only to recipients who have given prior, freely-given, specific, informed, and unambiguous opt-in consent. We obtain that consent through a clearly labelled, unchecked-by-default consent checkbox on the account registration form and on the newsletter signup form, or through equivalent affirmative opt-in collected separately. We record the email address, timestamp, source, and the wording of the consent prompt shown to each subscriber, as proof of compliance under Article 7(1) GDPR and equivalent provisions of UK GDPR and CASL.

Creating an account, signing in, downloading an asset, or making a purchase is not by itself treated as consent to receive marketing emails. Customers who have not given affirmative marketing consent receive only the service and transactional emails described in paragraph (a) above.

(c) Withdrawing marketing consent

You may withdraw your marketing consent at any time, without giving a reason and without any detriment, by:

• clicking the “unsubscribe” link present in every marketing email we send;
• updating your communication preferences in your account settings; or
• emailing privacy@getillustrations.com with the subject line “Unsubscribe”.

Unsubscribe requests are honoured promptly — in any event within ten (10) business days, as required by the US CAN-SPAM Act, and typically within minutes. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Service and transactional emails continue regardless of marketing preferences, because they are necessary to perform the contract you have with us.

(d) Compliance posture

GetIllustrations sends commercial electronic messages in accordance with:

• the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive (PECR) for recipients in the EEA and the United Kingdom;
• Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) for recipients in Canada; and
• the US CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 for recipients in the United States, including a functioning unsubscribe mechanism in every commercial email, a valid postal address, accurate sender information, and prompt processing of unsubscribe requests.

Where local law affords stronger protection than the above, the stronger protection applies. If you believe you have received a marketing email from us in error or without your consent, please write to privacy@getillustrations.com and we will investigate and respond within five (5) business days.
